To
spearhead the revolution and move closer to our mission, eGurucool
is supported well by investors – people who believed in us and our
passion. Right from the site’s infancy in December 1999 to a well
funded company backed by best-of-the-breed investors.
Our first round of investment came in from Chrysalis
Capital in Feburary 2000, followed by investments of more than
$10 million from Chrysalis Capital, Newscorp entity STAR
and International Finance Corporation,
member of the World Bank.
Chrysalis Capital is a private equity fund focused on leveraging India's
talent pool to serve the globe. Chrysalis Capital has raised about
US$ 200 million, making it one of the largest technology-focused funds
in the region. Its institutional investors include Harvard Management,
HSBC Holdings, the Government of Kuwait, IBM, IRR, Microsoft and the
Government of Singapore. Chrysalis is focused on three sectors - software
services, outsourcing services and technology - and has offices in
Mauritius, India, Singapore and the US.
STAR, a wholly owned subsidiary of News Corporation, is Asia’s leading
multi-platform content and service provider. STAR’s 30 distributed
services, in seven languages, reach more than 300 million viewers
across 53 Asian countries.

financing for private sector projects in the developing world.
