Additionally there is a 'Question Configurator' that helps you create your own tests as per the parameters - chapters, difficulty level of questions, questions testing Memory, Comprehension and Application - specified by you.

For the IIT course each chapter has been broken into the following heads:

For the CAT course, there are 2 programmes.
1. Guided Learning Programme (the full course)
2. Self Study Programme (the section level course)

The Guided Learning Programme has a study schedule divided into Sets I, II, III & IV which are provided according to a weekly schedule.
In Set I after studying each chapter of Quantitative Aptitude, you are provided a simulated test online, based on that chapter.
Set II has 'speed building' tests based on the chapters.
Set III has 'hard practice' tests based on the chapters.
Set IV has simulated test series based on the whole course.
Online, each chapter is divided into points to remember, shortcuts & CAT level solved examples.

There are more than 1000 pages of printed material comprising of study material and tests. All chapters in Set II, III & IV are provided in print as well as online.

For the Self Study Programme, the study schedule is divided into Sets I, II & III but it is not according to a weekly schedule. There is no set IV i.e. no simulated full length tests.

Yes, we offer past 5 years' Solved Board papers. These are usually made available around the month of November-December so that you can practice after gaining in depth conceptual knowledge and practice on chapter level and section level tests.

• What does the SmartStudy kit contain?
The SmartStudy kit comprises of a docket and a booklet. The booklet contains your Course Activation Pins inserted in an envelope. You require these Course Activation Pins to activate your SmartStudy Programme. The booklet provides you comprehensive information about the SmartStudy Programme, how to access the course, enrolment procedure, product catalogue etc.

• How do I access the SmartStudy courses?
To access eGurucool.com's SmartStudy courses, you need to buy the course. The SmartStudy courses are available on www.eGurucool.com. Click on the 'Buy a course' link on the homepage of eGurucool.com to begin the process of purchase. On having bought the course, you need to activate the course. Once the activation process is complete, the course can be accessed through the 'My Account' link on the homepage.

• Do I need to refer my books after buying the course?
Yes, you must still use your books regularly to follow the length and depth of the syllabus. We recommend a study pattern that is a combination of your books and the SmartStudy course.

• Is the course affiliated to any government education body like CBSE or NCERT?
No, the course is not affiliated to any board. The preparatory courses for individual boards are however, structured as per the requirements of those boards. The courses cater to the current academic year and reflect any changes suggested by the boards for that year. Periodic review and up gradation of the courses takes place at regular intervals.

• How can I buy a SmartStudy course?
To buy a SmartStudy course, you need to purchase the SmartStudy Kit. You can buy it online, through our distributors or through bookshops in select cities.

• How do I pay for a SmartStudy course?
You can purchase by sending a Cheque / DD or using your Green account in case you are purchasing the course online. You can purchase by cash, Cheque or Demand Draft in case you are purchasing from one of our distributors (only in select cities). • Can I pay by cheque?
Yes, payment by cheque is accepted as a direct payment mechanism. But we wait for the cheque to be cleared before we send you the course that you have ordered.

• I have enrolled for the course and have obtained a Smart Study kit. What do I do next?
Once you have received your smart Study kit, you need to activate the course on www.eGurucool.com.

• How do I activate my course once I get my SmartStudy kit?
Visit www.eGurucool.com and register (in case you are a new user) / login (in case you are a registered user)
1. Click on 'Activate Course' in the SmartStudy section on the home page.
2. Enter the following information given in the SmartStudy Kit that you have received in the activation page.
a. Course Code - Select the code of the course you wish to activate from the product catalogue given inside the kit.
b. ePartner Code - Mention the code stickered on the top left of the cover of the SmartStudy kit you have received.
c. Course Activation Pins (CAPs) - These are enclosed in your SmartStudy kit. Tear each pin along the dotted line to read the Course Activation Pin number for that amount. Please fill in these numbers accurately in the space provided on the activation page.

Remember, this is a one time process only. Once your course is activated, you will have access through your 'My Account' area.

d. On submitting, you will be asked to confirm the details of your course selection and PIN numbers.
e. Once you confirm these details, your course will be activated for you to access at any time.

• Why do I need to login to activate the course?
Every subscriber of the SmartStudy Programme has to login to get access to the course. It also helps us to have your details so that we can provide you with personalized services like sending you relevant information about the examination that you are preparing for, mails about upgrades and other offers.

• What is ePartner Code?
On the top left corner of the cover of the docket in your SmartStudy kit you will find a 4 digit number stickered. This number identifies the channel through which you have you have purchased this Smart Study kit and is needed for activating your course.

• What is Course Code?
Once you receive the SmartStudy kit, you will find a product catalogue sheet inserted in it. On this sheet, against the name of each course a six digit number is mentioned. This number is the Course Code and identifies the course that you have purchased. It is needed for activating your course.

• What are Course Activation Pins (CAPS)? How do I use them?
Course Activation Pins or CAPs are confidential personal identification numbers. These are inserted in an envelope in your SmartStudy kit. In order to activate the course, you need to enter these numbers carefully in the space provided.

The entry of these PINs is a one-time process and if the value of the PINs is accurate and you have entered the PIN numbers accurately, you get access to the course. You need to enter all the CAPs provided in the envelope to activate your course. Also, it is important that your browser be cookie and Java enabled for an ideal usage experience. In case you are convinced that you have done everything accurately and correctly and the course is still not getting activated, do not get distressed. Please mail us at help@smartsudy.egurucool.com and give us 24 hours to rectify the situation.

• I have entered the course Code but the system is indicating that it is invalid! What should I do?
It is possible that the Course Code has not been keyed in correctly. Please recheck the code on the Product Catalogue and key it again. If the problem persists, please do not get distressed. Please mail us at help@smartsudy.egurucool.com and give us 24 hours to rectify the situation.

• I have entered the CAPs but the system is indicating that the CAPs are incomplete or the value of the PINs is inadequate! What should you do?
It is possible that you may have missed out one or more CAPs provided in the envelope in your Smart Study kit. Please check and enter all the CAPs provided in the envelope carefully and accurately. If the problem persists, please do not get distressed. Please mail us at help@smartsudy.egurucool.com and give us 24 hours to rectify the situation.

• I have activated the course. How do I access the course?
Once you have activated the course, to access the course, connect to www.eGurucool.com. Login with your Login ID and Password using which you had activated the course. On the home page, a 'My Account' link will appear. Clicking on the 'My Account' link will provide you access to the course.

• What is 'My Account'?
'My Account' is a link to the course(s) that you have activated and would like to access. It provides you some additional information - number of emails used of the total that are provided as part of the course, your status in our referral programme.

• Will I get books to study from as a part of the SmartStudy course I purchase?
Booklets are being provided in SmartStudy Preparatory Courses for entrance examinations (IIT JEE / CBSE PMT / CAT etc.) These booklets will contain extensive study material besides tests on print to ensure conceptual clarity and loads of practice.

• Is the entire course is made available at one time?
Our faculty has created a study schedule for each course to make your learning more focused and efficient. Thus the course will be made available in a phased manner and the entire course will be completed much before the final examination.

• If I have any doubts, how do I clarify them?

No. You don't have to stay connected to the Internet / online for the entire duration of the course. If you want, you can save the pages and study at your convenience. However, for accessing all interactive features like email (eSolutions), chats and discussion forum (eDialogue) and getting the analysis and feedback on your test performance (eValuate), you will have to be connected to the Internet / online.

• What happens if I get disconnected midway while studying from my SmartStudy course?
If you get disconnected midway, you can reconnect to your ISP and continue from where you left off.

• How do I schedule my studies through your course?
We offer a schedule for each course in the SmartStudy Programme. This schedule indicates the recommended study plan and the time to learn a chapter properly.

• What do I do if there is a mismatch between your schedule and the one being followed in my school?
We recommend that our course be followed in combination with your textbooks for best results. However, our course is an independent and complete academic resource by itself and you can follow it independent of the school schedule also. As and when you shall go through the chapter a second time, whether in school or in our course, the understanding that you got from the first exposure will get reinforced.
