Before we start the study of some new functional groups, let us revise some of our earlier concepts.
  1. The hydrocarbons are parent compounds for the formation of a very large number of carbon compounds like alkyl halides, aryl halides, alcohols, phenols etc. (Explanation)
  2. The IUPAC nomenclature of alcohols and haloalkanes. (Explanation)
  3. Riemer-Tiemann reaction. (Explanation)
  4. Elimination reactions. (Explanation)
  5. Nucleophilic substitution reactions. (Explanation)
  6. Oxidation reactions of alcohols. (Explanation)

Pre-test

A pre-test allows you to be sure you have a clear understanding of the concepts given above. Your score in this test is an indicator of your familiarity with the pre-requisites. We suggest you go through the pre-requisites again in case you do not score high in this test. And remember, you can take this test only once (unless specified otherwise).
